Most people have no idea what you have to go through to make good jewelry photos for online selling. You have to have the right lighting, a camera that can macro, grey/blue/red backdrop, and photoshop skills. Even when it all goes well, each pic takes from 15-30 minutes a pop.
Sherri says, "They don't have to be perfect."
To which I reply, "Trust me, these are nothing close."
My digital prepress teacher would kick my butt and fail me if I turned these things in to her... but they're good enough for web.
"perfect" is subjective to your point of view -- I just happen to come from a much higher graphics elevation.
